Our first event takes place on the 2nd of August at the Volkskundemuseum Wien (VKM) which is located at Otto Wagner Areal (OWA).

We start at 3pm with donation based entry, affordable food and drinks and a workshop which will be followed by DJ sets and live concerts.

Durch klangliche Interventionen fördern wir nicht lineare Bewegungen als Gegenentwurf zur Vorhersehbarkeit smarter City-Designs. SONIC CELL untersucht das Potenzial, durch eine Form des cross-intelligenten Promptings uns Menschen dazu zu bewegen, neue Formen der Interaktion zu finden und bislang unerschlossene imaginative Schichten des Alltags zu erschließen.

VIDLUNNIA: Construction, Kriegsbilder, Biorhythm, and SHAPE+ Platform present a music event in Vienna.

The program features experimental performances with a focus on interdisciplinary sound art — three live acts and DJ set woven into a shared narrative of resilience.

>>> undo despot is an experimental audio-visual artist from Odesa. Based in Kyiv. Her musical practice is focused on combining deconstructed visual and music influences, coupled with academic techniques.

>>> alys(alys)alys — an artist from Brazil, currently based in Berlin. The artist explores the (un)common ground between experimental, club, and soundcloud music; crafting a dynamic approach to her own productions and eclectic DJ sets.

>>> Daniel Szwed is an artist from Poland. In his explorations, he focuses on a minimalist set, seeking new textures and sound colors. He balances on the edge of electroacoustics, metal, and industrial, setting his direction with steady sound and ritual form.

>>> Nic Krog — as a music and sound artist, Nic Krog’s signature is a distinct and volatile blend of bass-heavy club music juxtaposed with subversive sound art and spoken word.

Neaŭdita is a new project born from the encounter between Nicoletta Betta and Dario Lo Cicero. Initially occurred in the musicological sphere, after a long period of mutual confrontation and enrichment, it extended to a shared musical practice… they have found different points of encounter in the borderland between musical writing and improvisation, in the use of rare and sometimes unique instruments, in a playful and irreverent experimentation, in the search for a more authentic interculturality than that oriented by/to the hegemonic market.

Europäischer Jazz trifft Indischen Raga
Die langjährige musikalische Zusammenarbeit zwischen dem österreichischen Multiinstrumentalisten Herbert Könighofer und den renommierten indischen Musikern Dr. Pandit Ranajit Sengupta (Sarode) und Kousik Banerjee (Tablas) bringt eindrucksvoll unterschiedliche Klangwelten zusammen: klassische indische Musik, europäischer Jazz, Weltmusik und freie Improvisation verschmelzen zu einem einzigartigen Konzerterlebnis. Mit Instrumenten wie dem Slide-Saxophon, Sarode und Tablas entstehen sphärische, meditative Klangräume.

Zusammen mit der Raumstation werden wir am 6.7. um 19h unter dem Motto „Es schallt für Erhalt“ die Klanglandschaft der Alten WU erkunden.

Musician and sound artist Kalle Aldis Laar has been exploring the sounds of glaciers for many years, resulting in the art project "Calling The Glacier," first presented at the 2007 Venice Biennale and since then presented in numerous exhibitions worldwide. The art project is still active and offers the opportunity to call the Vernagtferner Glacier in the Ötztal Valley and hear it melting directly. A microphone at the Bavarian Academy of Sciences' measuring station there transmits the sound of the flowing water. When the Falter newspaper again drew attention to the project in a newsletter last year, the telephone line promptly crashed due to overload (https://www.falter.at/maily/20240126/call-me).

For the project's 10th anniversary, Laar and Klement met at the Vernagtferner glacier and decided to jointly develop a music project dedicated to their exploration of climate change and, in particular, the demise of glaciers. Due to scheduling constraints, "Glacier Calling" could only be started last year and will be presented in 2025, the Year of the Glacier.

Christina Ruf works in sonic and formative dimensions on and through her instrument, which only hint at classical playing in reflections. Rather, the use of a 6-string electric cello, various effects pedals, and electronics to influence, manipulate, and expand form and sound gives her an independent expression. Often constructing broad, dark soundscapes, her work, with its authentic inventiveness, not only delivers a performance but also touches the listener. The Danish word "ØM" means painful but also tender and stands for what is revealed

In their stories, which oscillate between instrumental and vocal, Muscle Tomcat Machine traverse a variety of tense, mysterious soundscapes, ranging from dark to melancholic, developing something strangely appealing in their own unique way, something coming from the depths that immediately captivates you.
