With its practice of Instant Composition Conducting, the VIENNA IMPROVISERS ORCHESTRA engages in a special discourse of non-notated, experimental composition and complex improvised music for large ensembles: on the basis of a hand-drawn system for parameters such as dynamics, pitch and length, sound architectures are created that become momentary compositions in the oscillation of structure-giving conducting and ensemble improvisation.
