Day 3 starts already late in the afternoon with a listening room dedicated to the German electronic musician Bernhard Günter, who from the 1990s onwards set significant impulses for the development of the genre lowercase sound with compositions like Time, Dreaming Itself. In an artist talk, the American sound artist and hardware hacking pioneer Nicolas Collins reflects on his artistic path from minimalist roots to an artistic exploration of unpredictable, chaotic systems, and also demonstrates this in a solo performance. With contributions by Kevin Blackistone & Ksenia Bakhtina, Michael Kramer & Thomas Geissl, Gundega Graudina and Christoph Kirmaier, students of the master's program 'Postdigital Lutherie' of the Kunstuniversität Linz and the Anton Bruckner Privatuniversität, respectively, will introduce themselves. At the conclusion of shut up and listen! 2023, the performance collective Ausländer presents the Freak Show, in which the social reality of Vienna for people without an Austrian passport is addressed in a humorous, grotesque and parodic way.
